The Tree and St. Nicholas Day

We always decorate the tree right after bringing it home. We make hot cocoa, listen to Christmas music, and have a jolly time (the animals have fun too!). We also celebrate St. Nicholas day, which I believe is Dec. 5th. Dylan and Katie put out their wooden shoes, and get lovely treats in them. Dylan wasn't awake, as well as being unable to enjoy his treats right away - he'd just had his wisdom teeth taken out (I have pictures - they're coming!).

Getting our Tree

This one was taken right as we went over a bump! We always go to the Genegantslet Tree Farm to cut down our tree, and they take you up the hill in a little wagon pulled by a tractor.

I'm so happy there was snow on the ground! Last year there wasn't any at all, and it just isn't the same.

Katie: Volleyball & Haircuts

Here's one (sorry there aren't more) picture from Katie's Volleyball season. Her soccer coach was coaching the volleyball, so Katie wanted to participate. It was alot of fun to watch, and reminded me of when Morag & I went to Meridian and I'd draw pictures of her as she played volleyball. How funny. The other pictures chronicle Katie's first haircut. She's had trims before - just to get rid of split ends, but this was the first serious cut in years. It still looks long, but actually, alot was chopped off. We all think it looks lovely!

Dylan's Birthday

Yes, I know I'm WAAAY behind! I wanted to get these posted before the new year...sorry. Anyway, here is Dylan's birthday. Like Katie's, we had Tom from the shop make him a lovely cake (since Wagners in Binghamton closed - a great tragedy). He got up early in the morning with us (school was still on) and opened one present - then took a little nap with Roo on the couch. The other pictures are from the evening, when he opened the rest of his gifts and we had cake.
